Heron launched on 15 July 2009 with a short story by Mel Bosworth.

As of 23 May 2011, Issue 4 now features a poetry collection by unFold's Regular Contributor Julie L Corbett, published exclusively by Folded Word.

Heron logoHeron is released in multiple formats. The most exciting one for us is the professionally printed broadside. Many are available as signed collectibles, distributed by the author. But we have saved some to give out to those who help us spread Heron across the globe.

 

More accessible are our free print-at-home versions of Heron. These will be downloadable from this webpage from 23 May 2011 until noon Eastern on 23 November 2011. A free reading, by Julie, of the work on mp3 is available as well.

 

We will be announcing distribution locations for copies soon. If you are a previous Folded Word contributor who donated your royalty to our Heron project, you may expect a 5-pack in your mailbox before the end of August.

  1. fold in half length-wise, printed side out
  2. place picture-side down/text-side up
  3. fold right edge first to make a tri-fold booklet with the title on the front flap

 

 

Julie L Corbett writes about and photographs her local section of Yorkshire, England. Her keen eye finds the beauty, humor, and heart in the everyday. Introduced to us during our August writing event, 24/7, Julie has since contributed frequently to our Twitterzine unFold. She also has a chapbook forthcoming through us in Spring 2012 entitled Reading the Humber. An active member of the Humber region's poetry community, she participates in readings and has had poetry nominated to be read at the Humber Mouth Literature Festival. Julie is a joy to work with and we are proud to present her poetry for your enjoyment within this fourth issue of Heron.
